Their story
Townsend Farm is a family-run fruit farm at Stretton Grandison, near Ledbury in Herefordshire, growing dessert and cider apples on its own orchards; the farm says it never buys in fruit from elsewhere. Since 2017 it has pressed single-variety apple juices, using varieties including Jonagold, Falstaff, Discovery and Greensleeves, rather than a single blended juice. Alongside this it makes naturally fermented "Wild Ferment" ciders, pressing and fermenting cider apple varieties such as Dabinett, Ashton Bitters and Gilly separately before blending. Apples are picked and pressed in season, without being held in cold storage. Cider and juice are sold through the farm's own online shop and a small number of specialist stockists.
Its own orchards only; the farm states all its apples are grown, picked and pressed in house, with none bought in or held in cold storage before pressing.
