Their story
Lawrence's Cider is a small traditional cider maker at Ridgeway, Corton Denham, run by John Lawrence. Cider is made in a converted double garage on wooden racking holding 200-litre fermenting tanks, plus pressing and bottling equipment, with a production capacity of around 5,000 litres a year. Apples are handpicked in autumn from local Somerset orchards and pressed using a traditional rack-and-cloth press, with some cider matured in oak barrels for extra depth. The cider is best known locally through The Queen's Arms in the village, where it is served when available.
No orchards of their own are described; fruit is bought in from local Somerset orchards.
