Their story
Colcombe House Cider was launched around 2015-2016 by Kier Rogers, taking the family name into cider-making after growing apples on the family's Wye-side estate at Hampton Bishop, Herefordshire, for many years. Colcombe House itself is a former Victorian salmon-fishing lodge, and the surrounding estate has been in the Rogers family since 1927. Cider apples, including Yarlington Mill, are grown in the estate's own orchards alongside dessert varieties and blended into a small range of bottled, boxed and canned ciders, sold under names such as The Willie Gunn and Mischief On The River. The wider estate also grows asparagus and makes apple juice.
About eight acres of apple orchards surrounding Colcombe House, growing red cider apples (including Yarlington Mill) and dessert varieties, on a family estate held since 1927.
