Their story

Clive's Fruit Farm, near Upton upon Severn in Worcestershire, is run by Charlie and Jane, as named on the business's own website. Their apple and pear juice business began in the late 1990s, when they started preserving English apples and pears after the fresh fruit market for them collapsed; fruit was initially sent away to Pershore for pressing before on-site pressing began in 2001, with a triple-roller press and flash pasteurisation added in 2010. Alongside its juice, sold as far afield as regional Waitrose and Ocado, the farm makes a small, traditional farmhouse cider and perry, mostly from dessert and culinary fruit with some dedicated cider fruit blended in, plus perry pears bought from a nearby old orchard. The wider farm also has a shop, café, butchery and pick-your-own.

The farm's own orchards supply dessert and culinary apples (including pick-your-own varieties such as Discovery); perry pears are bought in from an old orchard described as "a mile up the road"; some dedicated cider fruit is blended in from elsewhere.

What they make

  • Wobblejuice Dry Farmhouse Cider dry, barrel-aged farmhouse cider, bottled
  • Apple juice single-variety and blended, no added water, chemicals or sugar
  • Perry small batch, from bought-in perry pears
  • Fizzy cider and perry limited sparkling batches
