Their story

Ty Gwyn Cider is made by Alex Culpin at Penylan Farm, Pontrilas, in the Monnow Valley near the Black Mountains. The name comes from Ty Gwyn, a farm in the next valley where cider apples had been grown since 1969 and where the cider was first made from a surplus batch of fruit. The business later moved to Penylan Farm. Ty Gwyn buys in apples from local growers rather than growing its own, presses them on its own belt press, and ferments 100% juice into draught and bottled ciders and a perry. The farm also has a shop and bar, a holiday cottage, and a Cider Shack for overnight stays.

No orchard of its own; apples are bought in from local growers around the Monnow Valley.
