Their story
Hancocks Meadow Farm is a family-run smallholding on the banks of the River Wye at Ballingham, Herefordshire. It presses cider from its own heritage-variety apple orchard, making small batches of both single-variety and blended traditional ciders, fermented in a mix of steel, plastic and oak vessels. The farm also produces a hard, raw ewes'-milk cheese, made by a mother-and-daughter team and matured on site for around four months, and keeps a flock of Shropshire sheep and Berkshire pigs alongside the orchard. Its cider is sold through the online retailer CiderOnline. The farm does not publish the names of the apple varieties it grows, nor detailed visiting hours or tour arrangements on its own site.
