Their story

Bushel + Peck is the cider and perry brand of The Cotswold Fruit Company, run by David Lindgren from Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, since he left a corporate drinks-industry career to make cider and restore orchards. Production began in autumn 2015, with cider first sold in spring 2016. Fruit is unsprayed and gathered from local Gloucestershire orchards and gardens, and the business stocks around 65 Gloucestershire apple cultivars, one of the widest ranges of the county's traditional varieties available anywhere. Most drinks are fermented with wild yeast; the business also presses a natural, pasteurised apple juice with nothing added or removed. Alongside making cider, the team carries out orchard conservation work, including planting, pruning and maintenance, and volunteers with the Gloucestershire Orchard Trust.

No single named orchard; fruit is unsprayed and gathered from local Gloucestershire orchards and gardens, drawing on around 65 traditional Gloucestershire apple cultivars the business maintains or has access to.
