Their story
Old Jollop is made at Ashgrove Farm, Sand, near Wedmore, from a small orchard of old apple trees overlooking Tealham Moor, a site of special scientific interest. The website dates the business to 2012 and describes it as "made by hand, and by friends" who came together to make small batches of cider true to Somerset's cider heritage; site updates are published under the name Rob Walster. The old trees are pruned and the orchard grazed with sheep as part of restoring long-neglected ground. Cider is sold mainly through local pubs and shops rather than direct to the public, and the farm hosts the annual Sand Cider Festival, a music and arts event now in its second decade.
