Their story
Crossman's Prime Farmhouse Cider is made at Mayfield Farm in Hewish, North Somerset, by the Crossman family. Ben Crossman is the fourth generation to run the business, which traces back to 1977 when a chance remark to his grandmother started the family's cider-making. The cider is fermented and matured in oak barrels, some of them nearly a century old, and is sold straight from the farm as well as online. The range runs from dry through to sweet, plus a stronger 'Orchard Special' and a 'Mayfield Red'. Alongside cider, the farm shop sells free-range eggs, local produce, seasoned logs, and oak barrels and garden tubs.
What they make
- Mayfield Dry dry, 6%
