Their story
The Cider Syndicate, trading as Proper Drop, was set up in December 2019 by five friends from around Somerset, Bristol and Bath, who wanted to make a premium craft cider. Production is based in Clutton, Somerset, using fruit from Orchard Park Farm at Hornblotton, near Shepton Mallet. Proper Drop is a single blended cider made from Dabinett, Somerset Redstreak, Browns and Yarlington Mill apples, made without additives or added sweeteners, and sold both as a traditional still cider and in a lightly carbonated version. The company sells directly online and by delivery rather than through a shop front, aiming to offer something more characterful than mass-market ciders.
Apples come from Orchard Park Farm in Hornblotton, near Shepton Mallet; The Cider Syndicate does not appear to have its own orchard.
