Their story
Barbourne Cider makes traditional and fruit ciders and perry in Worcester, Worcestershire. It is run by Rich Reynolds as owner and cider maker, with Sid handling distribution and apple picking and Hannah handling sales and the website, as named on the business's own site. Fruit comes from the company's own orchard at Ombersley, which grows cider apples and perry pears alongside eating apples, raspberries, plums and blackcurrants, topped up with fruit from other local growers. Juice is fermented on wild yeast, and in some cases champagne yeast, for around six months, with some batches conditioned further in ex-whisky barrels and stainless tanks. Ciders and perries are packaged in bag-in-box, bottle and keg formats for the pub trade.
Their own orchard is at Ombersley, growing a mix of standard and bush cider apple trees plus Brandy and Morecroft perry pears; further fruit is bought in from other local growers.
